Out of 14 stocks, 13 closed positive from the closing price on Apr 9 and 1 stock did not perform at all and closed negative from Apr 9 price (CANBK). Out of 5 stocks that did not reach target 1, they still achieved more than 10% gain.

But it will be important to find out how many stocks really gave good trade set up where Stop Loss (SL) was not too far from entry and Risk Reward Ratio (RRR) was good enough to justify a trade.

I will analyse a few stocks to explain the above idea.  I will try to find trade set up based on an hourly and 15 min chart on/after Apr 13. Let's start with NCC that perform extraordinarily in terms of gain.

NCC:

The hourly chart shows, on Apr 13, NCC fell at 9.15am(Red candle) and made High of 20.5 and Low of 19.65. Hourly RSI took support at a line that has previously acted as a resistance. So the hourly chart showed the possibility of reversal and up move.

Before we look for entry possibility based on the 15 min chart, we need to find SL for trade so that we get an entry point that fits our RRR. Minimum RRR should be 1:2, which is for the risk of Re 1, profit should be 2. Our first target price is our minimum profit potential. So let us do that calculation for NCC.

Risk Reward Calculations:

SL = 19.3 or 19.55 (I will prefer 19.3 just below low of 19.4 shown on the hourly chart)
First Target price = 23
FOR RRR = 1:2

Max Risk
1.15
1.23
(Tgt 1- SL)/3
Entry Point
20.70
20.53
(SL+Max Risk)

So we will take trade only if we get entry at or below 20.55 OR 20.7( Little upside is acceptable-20.6/20.75)

Position Sizing:

Another point is absolute money risk in the trade. In this case, our risk is Rs. 1.25/share. So we will have adjust position size in case of cash trade depending on our risk appetite per trade. Suppose we do not want to loose more than Rs.5000/- per trade, then max number of shares we can buy (5000/1.25) 4000 no (This does not take into account Gap down risk in case of overnight position).

In case of stock future trade this risk would very high. In case of NCC (Lot size = 9000 no). So per lot risk will be 9000*1.25 = 11250/-. (Holding position overnight will have higher risk, incase of Big gap down, if position is not hedged).

Now let us look into 15 min chart for entry point. First 15 min(10.15 am) candle after closure 9.15 am hourly candle closed below trend line shown in the chart. Next 15 min(10.30 am) candle closed above trendline and closed at 20.8. Next 15 min candle open at 20.8 and low made is 20.6. So we can get entry in between 20.6 and 20.8. Followitng table summarises various entry point and RRR for trade set up for SL1 and SL2

So for SL2 only entry at 20.65 gives desired set up (1: 1.9 is approx to 1:2). For SL1 all entry points offer trade set up close to RRR 1:2.I will prefer SL2 as probability of SL1 hitting is high.

I will share similar trade set up for few other stocks in next post.

Bank Nifty for Week Starting Jan 16, 2017

Last week Bank Nifty made big up move of 650 points. High made is 18966. It looks like it is ready for further up move. On hourly chart Middle BB line(RED color) is providing support and Index may again move up towards upper line of  Blue Channel.  The Best trading strategy is now to go Long when Index is bouncing from Middle BB line and Exit when it is near upper line of Blue Channel. Hourly RSI shows Resistance at 85 level and Support at 59 level. So Blue channel along with RSI levels are good indicators for trade.  It is not good idea to go short as Up Momentum is strong. If Index breaks Middle BB line then only short positions should be taken. If Bank Nifty breaks 18850/18800 then we may see it reach quickly to 18650/18600. Also it may break RSI support level of 59 for major correction. We may see Index moving along Upper BB line (Blue color) on Daily chart. Index may face resistance at 19150/19200 level. If it crosses 19200 it can reach to 19500/197000. Daily RSI is

Bank Nifty EOD Update Feb 15

Bank Nifty today move down sharply after opening Gap up and making Top of 20368 just near Gann No 20364 and reversed sharply making Low at 20115 and closed at 20163. It seems wave B is completed at 20368 and wave C is started (confirmation only when Bank Nifty crosses 20000). We may see bank Nifty moving sharply to 19700/19500. Daily chart shows RSI crossing 70 level from top that shows possibility of down move. Also Bank Nifty broke lower channel lines (Blue as well as Red). So Bank Nifty may fall sharply in wave C.

BanknIfty Update for Jul-15, 2020

Banknifty opened Gap Down and continuously moved down. In the last 2 days, it almost falls more than 1200 points. We are able to capture this move from almost the top of 23000. The daily chart shows Banknifty took support at 30-EMA levels. MACD signal gave a bearish crossover signaling possibility of further fall in the coming days. RSI @ significant levels of 50. Break of 20900 could lead to a sharp fall towards 19700/19500. On the hourly chart, the MACD signal gave bearish crossover yesterday, and we saw a good fall in Banknifty. Gann Box: Weekly Gann Box shows Banknifty exactly changed the trend from the time factor zone. Also, the weekly opening was near the angle and it reversed after hitting angle and gave a good fall. It signaling a bearish trend for the coming weeks. On the daily Gann Box chart, we can see today Banknifty opened near angle, hit angle, and reversed sharply giving good down move. FNO Data: The future OI decreased by 7% signaling short covering with fall. The spot
